Link Building Tips For SEO In 2016

Link Building Tips For SEO In 2016
Over the past few years link building got the most attention and importance than the other elements of SEO. In 2015 'Mobilegeddon' (Google's algorithm update of April 21, 2015) influenced webmasters to make their site mobile friendly and Google released 'search quality raters guide' which helped many to update their strategies.

To fine-tune your link building strategies we first need to see the changes from prior years that influenced the industry.

    • Google Penguin Update: although version 1.0 is three years old but google constantly updating it to determine the quality of links. It's now almost impossible to build links with automated or unnatural ways.
    • Early in 2015 Google’s John Mueller made a statement about link building that “in general, he’d avoid that.” He actually referred to the old fashioned ways of link building like spamming which under Google Penguin update can do more harm than good. Writing high quality post and guest blogging and gaining links through this ways still considered as right way to link building.
    • Publishers are becoming hard to publish guest post because of unnatural ways of link building by the guest bloggers.
    • Google now has a higher standards of content and it's increasing day by day. Now only the best content has the chance to gain natural user share and links.
You may think about the said above that link building is dead now. But the truth is that link building still has it appeal to Google and other search engines. They're like positive feedback and pass 'authority' to your site. That's why you need to pay effort to link building.

So, let's get to the point: Link Building Tips For SEO In 2016

    • Don't do mass and unnatural link building as this can flag your site by Google Penguin algorithm.
    • Get links from respectable sources although it's harder to get links from them.
    • Get links from relevant sources otherwise your site might be flagged by Google.
    • Content is the king. Well written, unique content will get you natural and effective inbound links.
    • Avoid keyword stuffing in your anchor text. It can do more harm than good.
    • Diversify link building strategy. Multiple links from the same domain can reduce the effectiveness. In this case you need links from different domains to variety of internal pages.
    • Publish quality content more frequently.
    • Scale up your link building campaign gradually.
    • If you totally rely on natural link building then give more effort on guest blogging.
In conclusion I would say that link building is still fruitful for SEO but you should avoid keyword stuffing and unnatural link building. Instead you should guest blog and comment to authority sites. That will pay you in the long run.

8 Tips to Get Blogging Ideas

8 Killer Tips to Get Blogging Ideas
Maybe, you bought a domain name researching some domain idea tips, hosted it on a super speedy server. Also written one or two posts doing a little customization but not getting much traffic. Now thinking what to do, what to write about. You are at the right place!

Who starts blogging at a sudden, usually doesn't think much about what he have to do at next step, loose his hair searching for new ideas . Now a question arises: how to get new blogging ideas? It's a very common question for every blogger before or after starting his journey. If you blog on your favorite niche/subject, that's better, you will get many ideas by yourself, at least 50-100. But after that? You have to post something that a reader is searching for. They will visit your site to get something new. So every blogger should have fresh ideas that usually not available on blog-sphere.

Idea source-1: Read, Read and Read

To be a professional blogger the thing you have to do everyday is reading. For every authority blogger reading is the most important job. It's easy to get new blogging ideas reading relevant blogs or playing with search engines. You can make new fresh ideas just reading a simple book, magazine, conference paper, biography and even studying other's success story. Now just choose your topic, research market and make your decision to blog.

Idea Source-2: Know What Do Other Bloggers Talk About

If you know what other bloggers are talking about, that will help you much to generate new ideas. I am not saying to copy them in every way. If anyone do that it will be a big mistake. To be a pro blogger you should write contents by yourself.

Idea Source-3: Find Out What People Are Searching for in Different Forums

Forum is such a platform where people ask questions frankly and search for solutions. If you have the solution or the exact answer then you are the king. Make your blog 'talk of the web'. If you can do that, forum is the best effective source to generate fresh ideas and huge traffic. You can explore Yahoo Answer, Wiki Answer and thousands of sites on the web. Just search and get.

    Idea Source-4: Visit Article Directories

Article directories can give you clear blogging ideas on your topic. But don't follow directories directly for blogging because directories are mainly  a marketing system to drive traffic to a site. That's why you get advertisement type of posts instead of  full informative post. Here you can be a unique blogger. Write informative post with the same ideas. And follow article directories to get more than one idea on a topic.

Idea Source-5: Use Google AdWords Tool

By typing any word, phrase or sentence in Google AdWords Tool you can get good ideas on the search term. Basically AdWords tool is designed for the advertisers to know what are people searching for on Google. It's a powerful SEO tool. So you can add good and most searched keywords in your post too.

Idea Source-6: Keep in Touch With Latest News

Current news is the most important source to get fresh blogging ideas and contents. If you can present a hot news nicely in details with a little fun then it is possible to get millions of traffics from search engines everyday . To get latest news you can use 'Google Alerts' . If you blog about a quick changing or hot topic such as- politics or technology you must keep yourself updated with latest news. You will get many of them as regular reader.

    Idea Source-7: Ask Question

Ask question- it's very necessary for your blog. Ask your readers- what they want, what they are think about your post, what is going in their mind. You will get some active commentators caring for your blog. You can also do the same at social networking sites. Know their expectations, talk about them, write about them. You will succeed.

Idea Source-8: Check Your Analytics Regularly

Analytics is very effective to know how people're getting your blog. You will know- How much traffic you are getting from search engine and can find the best keywords for your blog. With the targeted keywords you can update your blog and get huge traffic from search engines.

There are many other sources to get good blogging ideas. Have you one? Share it with us. Happy blogging!

How to Write Your "About Me" Page

Often we feel uncomfortable when we don’t know the author of a blog post or have a poorly written “about me” page. For this reason the writer loses his credibility to us. That’s why today I am going to create our "about" page. I suggest you to create it before a huge number of readers start coming in to your blog.

When we go to purchase a book- often we will see the contents page, read the first one or two pages and see the back cover of the book.  In this way we can make an informed decision to purchase or not. The “about me” page can be considered as the same. A well written one can make a difference in how a reader views your blog.

Tons of people check it out much more than you would have thought. A usual post can get buried in the archives, but your about page will possibly be viewed every time a new visitor stops by.  A new reader of your blog often wants to know what he can expect, who the author is or what the author’s experiences are. If he is unhappy with the author’s expertise he can choose not to return ever.

A good example of this would be a blogger claiming he will show his readers how to work with Photoshop, but after reading his “about me” page we see that he has no expertise on the subject.

An about page can make a blog popular or down its popularity.

A trustful about page can develop a good relationship between a blogger and a reader. A well written “about me” page can stick a potential reader to a loyal reader. Sometimes readers make a decision to subscribe to the blog after looking the about page. “About me” page play a very vital role in ecommerce sites too. Only keeping that one page up to date you can see a dramatic result in your business. Because many people view this page after deciding what to buy to see if they can trust your business.

Unfortunately, sometimes writing an about me page is the hardest thing. It may be hard to write about yourself!  Many bloggers feel hesitation what to write in their “about me” page. Let’s see some points to write a better “about me” page.

    • Describe who you are. When a reader lands on a blog he usually check the about page. Sometimes they enjoy reading about the blog author. They want to know whose voice they are listening. This is where to tell your readers little about you. Show your personality and humor to your readers. Include pictures, videos, achievements etc. that proves who you are and what you are saying.
    • What your blog is about. Mention it in few words.
    • Why you are blogging. Tell a short story or how you want to help others.
    • Tell your readers how you can help them, what they can find now or in the future, how you can solve their problems.
    • Share your experiences. If you are experienced on your subject or have skills on other fields share it. If you have little or no experience let your readers know that, as well.
    • Do not exaggerate in your blog’s “about me” page. It’s a way to help your readers to know you and understand the topic of your blog.
    • Share your photographs. Readers prefer to read a blog from a person not from a faceless blog.
    • Share other websites or blogs (If you have). It is the best way to show your works and promote your business.
    • Include your contact information. Readers like the personal connection. This is helpful to build trust between a blogger and a reader. You can include your Facebook, Twitter or other social networking profiles too. Use contact form instead of email address.
    • Do not share your physical address, full birth date, and family photographs. These stuffs can be used for identity theft.
    • Place a link on menu or side bar.
    • Update it periodically.
    • And finally- K.I.S.S (keep it simple, stupid!)

Having a well “about me” page will influence your readers to care what you have to say and want more and more. Creating trust between two parties is the key to make a long term relationship. We want to make a good relation with our reader, don't we?

    How To Start Blogging

    How To Start Blogging

Want to earn some money? Or express yourself to others? In both cases blogging is the best platform online. Nowadays blogging is a hobby too. Many people blog only as a hobby. But starting blogging first time is not so easy. There are some initial and basic steps you should know to start blogging.

Decide Why You Want To Blog

At first you need to decide why you want to start blogging. You can start a blog for earning money as a professional blogger or as hobby, or to share your personal information with others. It is very important to know your purpose of blogging; because of from selecting domain name to designing blog varies with the purpose of blogging. Ask your mind- “Why I want to blog? - For money? - Hobby or for both?

    Choose the Exact Topic

You should start blogging with something that you know better. Choosing the exact topic of your blog is very important to stick with it. Do not select a topic on that you are not interested. To continue blogging for a long time it is a must.

Decide To Buy Domain Name or Use Free Domain

If you are a beginner and have no idea about blogging then you should use free domains. It costs nothing. Free domain is the domain that has extra tail with your main domain name (Such as: alijewelblog.blogspot.com). For free domain and hosting blogger is the best  platform now. If you want to start blogging professionally then you need to buy a domain name. Domain name costs around 10$. You can buy domain names from Namecheap,  GoDaddy and more.

    Find Appropriate Domain Name

There are many tools in the web to find an appropriate domain name. Choose your domain name as your niche/topic or close to your topic. For example: If you want to write on birds then your domain name should be ‘birds.com’ or something like that. Your site name should reflect the main theme of your blog. Try your best to select ‘com’ or ‘net’ names as most people are familiar with these types of domain names.

    Decide: Where to Host

You can host your blog to free hosting sites. But it is not better at all. Actually there is nothing free in the world. The best option is to host your blog to the top hosting sites. It costs about $3 to $6/month. It varies with different hosting companies. If you are not capable of paying the hosting cost then blogger is the best option. You can host your domain in blogger easily.

    Design Your Blog

Design your blog as reader’s friendly. Do not use unnecessary widgets and plugins. Unnecessary plugins slow down site loading time. Most visitors do not like that. Try to use light and eye friendly colors and avoid bright colors.

    Choose Blog categories

Do not post everything that comes in your mind. Choose 6-15 categories and do post on them regularly. Choosing blog categories helps your readers to move in your blog easily and quickly. There are tags to clarify your post. Do not change your category name frequently. It hampers your SEO.

Use Privacy Policy or Terms of Service Page

Using Privacy Policy/Terms of Service Page, You are keeping yourself legal and honest with your readership.

    Write Unique Content

Start writing content. Start with that you know better. Study on your topics. You can acquire knowledge reading newspapers, journals, blogs, websites etc. Do not copy and paste. Actually content is the king. So try to develop uniqueness in your writing. Write on a regular basis. It is the most important step to stick you readers with your blog.

    Place Ads on Proper Place

If you want to earn money blogging then Google AdSense is a better option. You can also earn by affiliate marketing. There are many sites that provide affiliate programs. Such as: Amazon.com. Place these ads and links on proper place. Excessive use of ads annoys the visitors. So think about it.

Blogging is a continuous process. A professional blogger learns in his every single step. Whether you blog for money or hobby you need to learn continuously. And I tried to give you some basic points in front of you. But it is not the all. For details keep eyes on alijewel.com. Happy blogging!

How to Create Video Tutorials: Easy Steps and Guides

    How to Create Video Tutorials
Help others, promote your business or simply make money uploading videos on YouTube or other sites. You can even sell your videos if you’re an expert on any domain. In this post you will get the simple but the most effective tips for creating professional video tutorials.

Video tutorials can help your audiences to stick with your blog, easily understanding complex topics and thus help you to get loyal readers to your blog. In natural return you will get more hits and money. If you are a teacher this is the best possible way online to spread your knowledge among your students (Salman Khan @Khan Academy is a good example). You can also market your brand and provide more visual service to your customers. But to stand up in the crowd you must produce something new and interesting.

Today I am going to share the simple but the core steps to make a smashing start.

    1. Get a Microphone

Your computer’s built in microphone isn’t enough to make professional voice records. You need a USB microphone if you create videos on a regular basis. You can get a good USB microphone within $100. But for non-professional works it is ok to use your default microphone.

    2. Choose Screencasting Software

You can find many of them searching Google but I found Camtasia as the best. It is not free; you have to pay $299. If you cannot afford it get CamStudio for free (You can also try others tools such as: Jing, Wink, Screencast-O-Matic, Webinaria, ScreenCastle, Screenr; but those 2 are the most popular)

    3. Make a Script

It will help you to stay focused on the topic. Write details as much as possible. You can use two monitors or one large monitor so that when recording you can open your script on one monitor while recording on another.

    4. Use Mind Blowing Medias

If you use slideshow or background music in the video choose the best. It will attract the viewers. But if music distracts your viewers from the topic it’s better not to use them.

    5. Take Preparation before recording

Rehearse at least twice. Read it out loud several times. It will make you smooth at the actual recording. Rehearse in details to avoid mental block. (Popping up windows or messages unexpectedly may cause mental blocks to many)

    6. Keep Your Workplace Clean

Too colorful desktop wallpaper, unnecessary and too many icons can distract your audience. So, keep your desktop clean. Remember to disconnect Skype and other applications that display pop up messages.

    7. State Your Goals And Show Outcomes

At starting, announce your goals and at the end show results to your audience. It will ensure them – yes! This tutorial works! And keep them excited.

    8. Say ‘Sorry’

Yes, we can make mistakes. Everyone does mistake. A simple word ‘sorry’ can make us more credible to our audience.

    9. Show Your Personality

People don’t follow robots :). So, you can add some personality to our videos and that will help your audience remember you. You don’t need to do much things; Just a smile or talking in your natural way can make the video rocking.

    10. Show Your Tutorial In Steps

Don’t just throw a lot of information but break your tutorial into steps. It’ll make the tutorial easy to understand.

    11. Things to Avoid

Drag your mouse normally; don’t jerk it again and again and never waggle your mouse to emphasize a point. Don’t make your video unnecessarily long; keep it short and sweet as much as possible. People don’t like to watch a long story. If your tutorial is targeted for beginners don’t use high-tech vocabulary but simplify it. On the other side, don’t use oversimplified language for professionals.

    12. Add Some Spice To Your Video

Adding subtitles, zoom, shortcuts will make the watching comfortable and gratifying. Ad callouts where needed. Add a two second title slide that can clear the purpose of the video. Place it in the lower-right corner of the video so that video play/pause option stays visible. Don’t add excessive callouts, annotations or animations. It increases video size. Add subtitle if possible, it’ll make the video clearer to understand.

    13. Re-Record Audio

Sometimes your voice can stumble or falter. It’s ok. Export the audio file from your recording software (Camtasia supports it; other softwares may support it; I don’t know really) and edit it with audio editing softwares such as Audacity. Now import it and render the audio file with the video. Now you got a clear and confident voice. :)

    14. Name Appropriately

Name your video simple but related to the tutorial. Naming it appropriately helps search engine to crawl easily.

    15. Add a Call To Action

Don’t just let your viewers go away watching your video but add a call to action. It can be encouraging to leave a comment, subscribing to your video channel, contacting you, joining your site. This is very helpful to engage your viewers more.

    15. Save Your Video In Good Quality

Resize your browser to 1280 x 720 pixels. Window Resizer extension for chrome can resize your browser. Open recording software and drag the recording window to 1280 x 720 pixels size. These dimensions will let your video to display in HD. Now YouTube and other sites support HD videos and people love it. If your dimensions are less than 1280 x 720, record as normal though it won’t give you the HD quality. Export the video in AVI format and set the frame rate at 15 fps (Frames per Second); it’ll give you better video quality. 30 fps is the best but it’ll make the video size large which is not good for your audience.

So let’s start making rocking video tutorials and don’t forget to share your experience with us.

How to Make a Blog Header

A header means a lot to a blog. It makes your blog more meaningful and clear. It’s like a visiting or business card for your blog. When visitors come to your blog, it is the first thing they see. A good header attracts the visitors; on the other hand a bad header creates a bad impression on mind.

So, you have to be creative with this part. Let’s talk about some points to make possibly the best header for your blog.

    Start Planning

Planning is the key to success. So before starting determine the title, tagline, and the graphic(s). Pick the colors you want to use. Think what colors match with your blog background. Don’t be silly. Using too many colors can make your header worse. So choose wisely.

    Try to Reflect Your Blog

That header should expose you and what is your blog about. Don’t just follow others. Try your ideas. It’s a creative part. For example – a blog about birds should not have a cow in its header.  Rather than birds sitting on a tree is a better choice.

    Choose Appropriate Size

Choose a considerable size. Don’t use too big header. Header is not the key target but content is the king. So keep space for posts.

WIDTH: For a 2 column design you can make 800 or 850 pixels wide header. 900-1000 pixels is ok for a 3 column design. Theses sizes are frequently used. If you want more writing space you can create a bigger one. But don’t make too wide.

HEIGHT: Don’t make a header more than 200 pixels tall. Very tall header can hide your valuable contents and you don’t want it.

    Use Your Finest Pictures

If you want to use pictures in your header then use the best pictures. Make a good combination of pictures. One, two or more images can be used. Try to match the colors with your blog background. Use meaningful pictures that convey your blog message.

    Use Graphics

If photography is not your favorite you can use graphics in it. It’s also a good choice. Be creative as much as possible as you can. For graphics design- you can buy graphics at istockphoto or make it own.

    Now Design It

Now design your header. Graphics software like Adobe Photoshop can be used in this case. Online image editing services like Picasa or Picnic is also a good option. You can use one, two or three types of fonts in header. Try out your designs.

    Use Save For Web Option

There is a save for web option in Adobe Illustrator and other softwares. It converts images to a jpeg file that is boosted for websites or blogs.

    Now Install

It’s easy. Upload your header to your blogging platform.

People browse many sites daily but they can’t remember all sites’ name and its contents. But some sites always live in their mind. Why? Yes! It’s for creative designs and its precious contents. And in this post we described how to design a creative blog header. But always remember in mind content is king. So keep your header simple. Don’t make it very eye catchy.
